UPDATE FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER

imgDear Members:
There’s been a feeling of fall in the air the past couple of weeks — even a little sprinkle of rain!

So, it’s getting to be time for one of The Hills’ most beloved traditions — our annual Halloween bash! Be sure to mark your calendar for Friday evening, October 23. We’re planning another ghoulish evening of fun, food and far-out costumes! See below for more event details.

imgWe’re also planning another fun evening of jazz music, socializing, fine food, and wine tasting for Friday evening, December 4th. We’re calling it “Jingles and Jetblacq” because we’re ringing in the holiday season to the groove of a couple of our member-musicians. You can check out the musical strains of Jetblacq on their website, and then be sure to make your reservations early! We can only accommodate the first 60 who sign up, and this event is sure to sell out! Tickets are $30 per person.

As a reminder, be sure to check out our new smart phone app that allows you to manage all of your club business from the palm of your hand. You can register for classes, reserve a cabana at poolside, pay your bills and a lot more! You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play (search for The Hills Swim & Tennis Club).

Finally, we are really excited about building our youth tennis program. We have a one-day event on the calendar for September 26th, and also have set up a series of clinics starting in October to introduce young players to the fundamentals of the game. Sign up for the special event and the clinics at the front desk.

As always, please let me know if you have any concerns or questions.
To your health and happiness,
Derek

PILATES & DANCE

imgWelcome New Instructor Hilary Snider
Hilary has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, and teaching for over 5 years. She says, “I believe the mat is like a mirror that reflects the body’s story and that the Pilates method works hand-in-hand with yoga training. I love that yoga and Pilates are deeply individual practices that also nurture connections and build community.”

Before becoming a teacher, Hilary danced, choreographed, and spent time as an apprentice and intern with professional dance companies in New York City, Portland, and in the San Francisco Bay Area. She studied at Lewis & Clark College and received honors in choreography and dance performance, with a major in studio arts.

She specializes in working with scoliosis patients, with certification through Dr. Suzanne Martin of Pilates Therapeutics, and Elise Browning Miller, Senior Certified Iyengar teacher.  Hilary will step in to sub our early morning and weekend Reformer Pilates classes. You may also meet her in one of our group fitness yoga or Pilates classes.
