UPDATE FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER

Dear Members:

As the summer season heats up, we are focused on keeping The Hills safe and enjoyable for you, your children and guests. One step we announced was hiring a pool manager to provide oversight and a presence on the pool deck on weekends, holidays and other busy days. I am pleased to introduce Marika Holtzman in this role.

Marika is a Hills "veteran" who many of you will recognize. She grew up in the area and progressed through swim lessons and swim team at The Hills. She started teaching swim lessons at 16 and continues as an instructor to this day. Marika is studying psychology and criminal justice at the University at Albany, SUNY. She is excited to be back at The Hills this summer. You'll see her around the pool deck making sure everything is running smoothly.

Also, we've instituted an online reservation system for our popular cabanas around the pool. This system runs alongside our online billing service. If you don't have an online account and password, contact Jeni Nguyen at [email protected].

Our cafe is now open seven days a week, 11am to 8pm. We just hired Jeff Zimmerman as our day-to-day cafe manager. Feedback about our new menu and service has been very positive, so please try a sandwich or salad and let us know what you think. We want the cafe to be a success and your patronage is appreciated.

Finally, I want to ask that you enjoy our saunas and hot tubs with respect for other members' comfort. To promote quiet reflection and relaxation, we ask that you avoid loud conversation in these areas. Likewise, please refrain from using any oils or personal products in the saunas. Some members are sensitive or allergic to these products.

Thanks for your cooperation with the club's rules and regulations, and for your helpful feedback and suggestions. We are all looking forward to a fun, sunny summer season!

To your health,

Ernesto Chamorro
General Manager

PROGRAMS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Kinderdance Summer Camp Free Trial

imgKinderdance is an engaging, musical experience that blends physical and creative development with preschool-education concepts. Designed for 3-to-5 year olds, featuring songs and dances from the hit musical "Frozen" and with fun themes like Dancing at the Beach, Dancing with the Animals A-Z, and Dancing on a Jungle Safari! We incorporate colorful props, music and dance moves. Children learn the basics of tumbling, floor gymnastics, ballet and tap, while free-movement is fostered in imaginative realms like the sea and jungle. Kinderdance teaches to the “whole child,” building self-esteem through positive reinforcement, encouraging new levels of physical development, and stimulating the brain with colors, shapes, letters and numbers. Bronwyn’s Nutrition Tip

When trying to lower blood pressure through diet, most would cut back on salt. Yet salt, or sodium, is just one of several minerals that regulate blood pressure. Magnesium, potassium and calcium are also key players. These minerals need to be increased to reverse hypertension. Great sources of these nutrition’s are found in nuts and seeds, grains, beans, lentils, fruit and vegetables. Studies show boosting these minerals in the diet can significantly lower blood pressure even when dietary sodium levels stay the same. The more plant-based foods you consume, the better for your blood pressure. And of course, keep up the exercise!
