UPDATE FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER

imgDear Members,

It’s hard to believe that 2015 is in the bag and we’ll have a clean slate in 2016. Personally as I look back on the year I’m excited to think about some of the improvements around the club as well as the relationships we’ve built. Some of our improvements took place in the cafe with the addition of smoothies and the use of a wireless paging system for café orders. The smoothies have been a hit all around and the paging system has cut down on the noise of calling orders over a microphone. Another great improvement was the addition of air conditioning in the fitness center and clubhouse, although we realize there is still more work to be done in regards to insulation with the clubhouse as it is currently insulated like a barn (no insulation). Also, many of you have commented on the much improved Wi-Fi that can be reached all the way to the lower deck. Lastly, we switched cable providers which allowed us to upgrade from 6 channels on our fitness equipment to 37 channels. All of these improvements have led to a greater experience here at The Hills that I’m proud to be a part of.

img

Enough of living in the past, let’s talk about some improvements that will be underway as many of you may be reading this. The fitness center will be receiving a much needed facelift with new paint, flooring, and all new fitness equipment. We wanted to get this accomplished as we wait on the permits, which are now waiting on parking lot improvements that the county is requiring before the fitness center can be expanded. The fitness center will be closed for renovations January 3rd through the 10th, but don’t let that stop you from staying fit; there will still be many classes available for you to supplement your workout. Take advantage and see the Group Fitness section and schedule for more details.

With the overwhelming feedback and participation last year, we are starting off 2016 with the Around the Club in 90 days Passport program. This is a great opportunity to get out and try new things around the club and earn $20 toward your dues. There are more prizes so read below for details on this fun program.

Cheers to the new year, wishing you and yours a happy and healthy year. Make every moment count!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

To your health and happiness,
Derek

Fitness Center Closed

img

If you didn’t read the Manager’s Update, the Fitness Center will be closed January 3rd-10th for renovations. The renovations include: new paint, new floors, and new equipment. Our equipment will now be supplied by Technoqym, one of the leading manufacturers of gym equipment. Technogym’s equipment features more functions for a personalized, motivational, and entertaining workout that also improves technique. We will set up a temporary fitness area ready to use January 4th with cardio equipment, Olympic bench, and free weights in the Child Care area which will not be used for child care during this time. We hope that you’ll use the temporary closing of the fitness center as an opportunity to enroll in a TRX class, which uses your bodyweight to build muscle; walk-in to a Yoga class to lengthen and lean muscles for more flexibility; or join one of our many other classes or personal training appointments. The closing of the fitness center is also a great reason to try the 90-Day Passport program (see details above). Check out the Group Fitness schedule on our website or see the Group Fitness section for more details.

Child Care Temporarily Closed
Please note that during the Fitness Center renovation, January 3-10, the Child Care Center will be closed to be used as the temporary fitness area. Temporary fitness area will be ready to use January 4th.
