Nathan has been in the water for nearly his whole life. He learned how to swim at the age of 4, and ever since then, has been tough to pull out of the water. Nathan has been competitively swimming on the Hills Hurricanes Swim Team for almost nine years. He also studies and swims at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, California. Furthermore, Nathan has experienced local, state, and national success as he’s competed at Junior Olympics, Far Westerns, Pacific Swimming All Star meets, and has been once nationally ranked in the top ten for his age group. Along with competitive swimming, Nathan loves to play water polo, surf, and boogie board in his free time. When Nathan’s not in the water, he tries to always find a way to be involved with aquatic jobs and organizations. He is a part-time lifeguard at the Hills Swim and Tennis Club, an athlete representative in Pacific Swimming, and has served as the Hills Swim and Tennis Club Aquatic Director’s assistant on multiple occasions. Nathan was once a young, nervous kid who was scared of the water. His goal as a swim instructor is to make everyone’s process of learning how to swim easy, enjoyable, and fun!
